February is National Children’s Dental Health Month

Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation logoFebruary is National Children’s Dental Health Month! I’m excited to announce that we have partnered with Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh this month to raise funds for their pediatric dental programs.

Most parents have no idea that tooth decay is the number one chronic health problem of children and early dental care can affect your long-term dental and overall physical health. This -among many other reasons- is why I pledge to give 30% of the sales made from all book sales, to the pediatric dental programs at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. It’s important to take dental care seriously, and I firmly believe that the sooner children learn to take care of their teeth, the better!

February is the perfect month to promote Matt Monroe and the Secret Society of Odontology, as well as, help raise money for Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. This first book in the Matt Monroe Series definitely has a dental theme woven throughout Matt’s adventures with his friends. They embark on a ‘scary’ trip to Paragon, encounter real-life tooth fairies, the harrowing trip down Root Canal Rapids, and cross the Great Cavity.

I will be holding book signings, discussing the book, and doing some readings throughout February and mid-March at local Barnes & Noble and Indie Bookstores. So come and share some fun and adventure with me as I share more about Matt Monroe, and maybe you’ll even get a preview of the next Adventure in Book 2, Matt Monroe and the Haunted House. I’ve put together some ‘Dental Health Tips’ that you can get when you sign up for my mailing list or pick one up at the next event.

The next scheduled book event and fundraisers are:

  • Saturday, February 9, 1 p.m. Classic Lines Books 5825 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15217
  • Saturday, February 16, 4 p.m. – 6 p.m., Cranberry Barnes & Noble, 1000 Cranberry Sq, Cranberry Twp, PA 16066

  • Saturday, February 23, 1:30 p.m. Riverstone Book Store 8850 Covenant Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15237

Please come to an event closest to you! If you can’t make it, please purchase a book online here or on Barnes & Noble in order to give back to the hospital. If you’d like to know more about UPMC Children’s Hospital, here’s a link.

I appreciate the support 🙂
